They say it started with the big bang;

shotfired She had ditched class that day, though that wasn't exactly new. Chloe was always skipping classes, going off to make trouble elsewhere, find more interesting things to do. It had been less of a problem when Max had gone to the same school as her, but now that Max was going to a goddamn private academy, that was out the window. It wasn't the private academy itself that bothered Chloe, so much as it was that with Max there...it felt like she was taking a step away from her, like their relationship would slowly grow more and more distant with the separation.
Not that their relationship was holding very strong just then, given they hadn't spoken in nearly four months. Chloe couldn't even remember who started the fight that ended things. Probably her. She had a habit of doing that. She pushed those thoughts from her mind and focused on the school in front of her. Not hers, but Max's. The bell hadn't yet rung, and all the good little girls and boys were probably inside, learning how to control their oh so special gifts. Chloe snorted, dropping the cigarette from her fingers and grinding it into the ground with her heel. Stupid place. Ugh, why is this taking so long. Maybe if she had time powers, too, she could fast forward through this wait.
She looked down at her watch and counts the seconds until the bell sounds. When it did, and throngs of students filled the sidewalks, Chloe stayed where she was, back to a tree, watching. When she spotted Max, she smiled just a little to herself and started following, down the steps and then the sidewalk towards wherever. The bus stop probably.
She picked up the pace, until she was right behind her, and then reached out--to zap her. It wasn't hard, just a little static shock to get her attention, but it wasn't really the best way to greet someone you fought with and haven't spoken to in months.
"Hey." Chloe smirked as she walked up alongside Max, matching her pace. "I was thinking we could blow this place and get some snacks."
