Once upon a time, a single drop of sunlight fell from the heavens;

 [ Gods don't usually pop into New Rome unless something serious is going on, so when Apollo appeared in a flash of sunlight, spewing obnoxious amounts of poetry and demanding to see the son of Jupiter, people got a little nervous. Jason got the rundown; he was needed for a quest. Centuries ago, Jupiter had taken a flower drenched in sun to give to someone he had been courting, and while it hadn't been a big deal at the time, Apollo really needed to get it back. It was only fitting that a son of Jupiter go retrieve it. He didn't explain his reasons for needing the flower back, but when a god demands a quest, you don't really ask questions unless you want to get fried, cursed, or worse.

So, he accepted the quest and all that entailed, including a prophecy from Octavian;

You shall travel east to the guardian of stone
and free the sun that sleeps alone
The truth shall see you to journey's end
and that you betray the one you call friend

Jason was allowed to take two people along with him, but against the counsel of Reyna and the others, had decided to travel alone. The prophecy, while bleak, felt personal. And though he couldn't pinpoint why, he felt like this was a quest he was meant to take on his own.

It was a long, arduous journey, but he eventually found his way to where Rapunzel was kept asleep. Her guardian--a stone monster of some kind--was difficult to take care of, but he managed. Somehow. Now, he's staring up at the cottage where, he assumes, the flower is being kept. It's high up on a rock shelf, and while it might be difficult to get to it for anyone else, Jason is able to use the winds to his advantage and fly up to where he needs to be. ]

Well, here goes nothing.

[ The inside of the cottage is empty, silent, and layered in dust. He's not sure what he expected to find there, but a sleeping girl was definitely not it. He had expected a flower, but given the prophecy, well, it would make sense for the girl to be who he's looking for. Slowly, he makes his way towards her, his hand on the coin in his pocket. The place looks abandoned, but that doesn't mean there isn't something lurking in the shadows.

Once he's by her side, he sits at the edge of the bed and awkwardly clears his throat. ]

Hey, you...awake? [ Stupid question, but he's not sure how to go about waking her. He wanders around the room looking for some clues, and finds a lyre tucked away on one of the shelves. Unlike everything else in the cottage, it's the only thing devoid of dust. On impulse, he plays a few strings, and feels the urge to repeat something Apollo had said... ]

Flower gleam and glow, let your power shine...
